Homestead is a Florida city situated in Miami-Dade County, making it a suburb of Miami. Agriculture is a major component of the local economy, which is the second oldest in the county. Today, Homestead has a population of 60,000 people.

Homestead is just 35 miles southwest of the city of Miami, making it a great spot for day trips. The city is also 24 miles away from Key Largo and not far from the US 1 junction. Two national parks, Biscayne and Everglades, are also in close proximity.

At least 10 parks are available in Homestead. These include angelo Mistretta Park, Audubon Park and JD Redd Park.
